The potted plant is doing extremely well now, but it has purplish discolored leaves and tiny spots nearly all over the entire vine.

Is your margarita vine a variety of sweet potato? Sweet potato vines are susceptible to a variety of viruses that produce unusual discolorations on the leaves. To determine what exactly is wrong with your plant, you can take samples to your local Penn State Extension and have them sent to Penn State Plant Clinic for diagnosis and recommendations for control.
