My husband recently trimmed our hemlock bushes alongside our deck, on the top and the sides. When we returned the following weekend, they weren't in good shape and looked like they were dying. We're heading back there again this weekend and will check on the condition, and try to send a photo also. Any suggestions in the meantime? Thank you very much, Barbara Silver

Perhaps the hemlocks are suffering from sunburn after the outer branches and tops were trimmed?
Please send photos of the damaged hemlocks to help me with a diagnosis.
