Is it okay to use fresh rhubarb after July 1st? This year my rhubarb plant is still producing nice firm stalks and has not gone to seed. I would like to use this in combination with strawberries/raspberries to make jam. Thanks.

The reason we recommend stopping harvest in July is that it allows the plant to use its leaves to collect and store energy for next year's crop. Pulling a few stalks won't make that much difference, but try to leave as many as possible. Next year you might want to harvest earlier and freeze until the berries are ripe.
