Mugo Pine Question

Asked August 3, 2015, 2:39 PM EDT

I have had several dwarf mugo pines that seem to do well but then begin to turn brown and die. One was an established pine that was about 3-4 years old. I love these plants but can't seem to keep them alive.

Mugo pines are great plants and relatively tough once they are well established. However, they are not immune to problems, such as cultural/environmental or pests. I would recommend you contact your local county Extension office and work with them as it is difficult to diagnose the real problem via email. They will need to have a history of the plants and how they have been cared for over the years and may even need some samples to examine.
