fall potato planting

Asked July 30, 2015, 9:54 PM EDT

I am thinking about trying a crop of fall potatoes this year. I use potato bags for the spring crop. What issues do you think I will face by using the bags for the fall crop? Will the above ground exposure damage the crop? Thanks

It is highly unlikely that you would be able to grow and harvest potatoes if they are planted later than mid-July. Also, finding good quality seed potatoes now would be problematic. New potatoes generally refuse to sprout.
