Are blackberries safe this year if they were sprayed with crossbow last year?

Asked July 25, 2015, 10:51 AM EDT

I want to pick blackberries near my home, but they were sprayed (only at ground level) with crossbow. The berries are back with a vengeance this year, but are they safe to eat?

If the blackberry plants are healthy: green, thriving, growing like weeds haha, then yes, they are safe to eat.

Thank you!!!! Blackberry jam tomorrow!

Yes, as long as they are growing like weeds they are safe to eat. Crossbow residues normally only last 3-6 months under warm moist condtions. It certianly has been warm, and if the site is watered that speeds up the decompositon of the herbicide.
