Pagoda Dogwood

Hi We lost an Amur maple due to Verticillium wilt in our backyard, under our walnut tree. We are wondering if we remove the tree and replant with a Pagoda Dogood, would that grow or do you have another suggestion?

I'm sorry to say that you cannot plant a new dogwood in this area - not for many years, anyway. Verticillium wilt persists in the soil for a long time, and there are no chemical treatments that are effective.
