My front lawn is looking light colored green compared to the backyard. Lots of dead grass through out the front yard. We did start a lawn service this year, last year we had new landscaping put in and don't know if the ground got compacted. What can we do to add lush, green grass to our front lawn?

You may want to partially renovate your front lawn. The link I am giving you lists steps for a complete renovation. But, parts of it, including thatch removal, soil test http://soiltest.cfans.umn.edu/ overseeding and adequate watering should all be helpful to you.
