Are the trees along the Deckelman Ridge road in the Bearlodge aspen or paper birch or both?

Without a picture I can not confirm if the trees are aspen or paper birch. Both species are very common in the Bearlodge Mountains. Please send a pecture to my email or office and I can confirm the identification for you. You can also examine pictures at the following site http://plants.usda.gov/java/ for Populus tremuloides (aspen) or Betula papyrifera (birch).
Thanks

Hey, I keyed them both in Plants of the Black Hills and Bearlodge Mountains by Larson and Johnson, and these are aspen. If you haven't seen the area it is a must...especially in fall.
Thanks though...
