Hi, can composting worms eat the remains of scented flowers? Thanks.

Typically, red worms are fed kitchen scraps for their nitrogen and protein, while dried leaves can be added to the bedding for carbon. But the easiest way to find out is to place some of the flower remains in the bin in a discrete location that you can monitor. If the worms ignore them, you'll have your answer. If they feed on the spent flowers, you can continue providing them. At that point, you may want to chop them up in order to hasten the decomposition and feeding.
