In the past I have used the Miracle Gro all-purpose fertilizer for my vegetables, flowers (annuals and perennials), shrubs/trees, etc. I read in one of your articles that vegetables like tomatoes and peppers need something with not as much nitrogen, so I went out and bought a more balanced fertilizer for them. Is Miracle Gro still O.K. for the other stuff, or do I need to match up a specific fertilizer with every application?

The liquid formulation of Miracle Gro is fine for feeding flowers, both annuals and perennials. Constant nitrogen fertilizing on vegetables will encourage more leafy growth and less fruit. Peppers and tomatoes will look better but with less fruit. Spinach, lettuce, kale, and other leafy vegetables will benefit from the added nitrogen.
