My husband and I have a hardy kiwi plant and there's a different looking plant sprouting up right next to it. I believe it's an aggressive weed; he completely disagrees and says it's part of the male plant. Please refer to the attached photo as I need help. Thank you so much! Lenora

From the picture it actually looks like a peony plant - if you bring a sample into the Island County Extension office we should be able to identify it - or you may call our Master Gardener hotline and arrange for a home hort call or find where one of the plant clinics are - call 360-240-5557 - and leave a message and a Master Gardener will be in contact.
