Hello Master Gardeners, My daughter sent me a gardenia plant for Mother's Day...

Hello Master Gardeners, My daughter sent me a gardenia plant for Mother's Day this year. It died within a week. I called 1-800-FLOWERS and they sent me another one. I was able to keep that one until this week and it died. I tried to follow the directions to keep them alive. If the leaves looked wilted, I watered the plant. The next day the leaves looked good, but some kept turning yellow in a few days. Finally, I just gave up. I know that I probably overwatered it, but I really want to get another plant and keep it alive. How do I do that? Thank you, Barbara Brown
