tomato leaves curl and club

Asked June 16, 2015, 9:46 AM EDT

In the beginning of June, the leaves of my tomato plants that I have growing in containers began to curl and grow in a clubbed fashion (see attached picture). The plants were bought from a variety of stores. Other tomato plants growing in a garden plot 10 feet away are not showing these signs. What could be causing this condition and is there any remedy?

Here is a fact sheet from Clemson University extension about diseases of tomato plants. Thee is a disease mentioned called yellow leaf curl at the bottom of the article. There are also many images of leaf curl in an image search of yellow leaf curl. To get a better diagnosis, take a sample to your local Penn State Extension for identification and a treatment plan.
