I ripped out lilacs this weekend and I'm wondering if there's anything I can soil apply or what would be the best thing to do to keep them from coming back. I probably should've sprayed them before I ripped them out, but it just didn't happen. We plan to put a driveway in and plant some of it to grass/lawn. Thanks

I'm not aware of any soil-applied herbicide that would work. Your best bet is to wait for new lilac growth. You can then cut it back and apply glyphosate (Roundup) to the cut stem ends. This should kill it.
