How can I treat my fruit trees infested with plum curculio?

Asked June 8, 2015, 9:19 AM EDT

I have a bad infestation of plum curculio pests. They began a few years ago and now they are in all my fruit trees (plum, peach, nectarine, apple, and cherry). I spray with a multipurpose fruit tree spray on a 7 to 14 day schedule and it doesn't control them. Under the trees, I rake up and discard the fallen fruit in the trash, not the compost pile. What activities and insecticide can I use to rid my backyard orchard of these pests?

Hi there. Plum Curculio is a type of weevil. Recommendations for prevention/control is a spray of Captan or Immunox + Malation, beginning at 'petal fall' (blossom drop) and again 7-10 days after. I am attaching a copy of the Fruit Tree Timetable and hope that will help a bit!
