Grant opportunities for a school with a micro farm

Asked June 5, 2015, 11:05 AM EDT

Hello, I'm writing to ask if you know of any grant opportunities that our Charter School Micro-Farm may be able to apply for. Avon Grove Charter School (www.agcharter.org, quick links on the left "AGCS Micro Farm") has grown an extensive program over the past 4 years as you will see from our website. Our chief fundraiser has left the school and I'm trying to fill some big shoes! Any leads would appreciated!

the grant process can be very competitive.

The USDA has a specific program intended for these type requests.

Another possibility is NE-SARE. These programs are geared more towards commercial production but may have some opportunity for your programs.

I would also touch base with Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Market Development, bureau director Lela Reichart
