This Spring, I built a good size Pergola (about 18' x 20'). It is on top of a low height deck (about 2 feet off the ground) and in a very sunny spot in South Minneapolis. I'm interested in growing a vine on it that would provide some shade in the summer and look interesting in the winter. I shopped for Grape Vines and what I found seemed like they would only grow about 10' and that seemed too small. Any suggestions???

Grape vines will cover the pergola and with fertilizer and water are very vigorous. Wisteria is very pretty and there are varieties for zone 4. I like hardy kiwi, it has multi colored leaves, hops are also very pretty.
