Can I plant ribbon grass/canary grass on a septic mound without damaging the septic system? I need a good ground cover for this mostly shaded area.

Cass County Minnesota

Ribbon grass is very invasive so be prepared to watch it so it doesn't migrate into your lawn. Here is a link to info from the University of Illinois http://extension.illinois.edu/grasses/ribbon_grass.cfm
We do have a publication worth reading about planting over septic mounds and suggestions for possible plants.
