White grubs in blueberries

Asked May 24, 2015, 11:17 AM EDT

Hello one of my 6 year old blueberry field suffers from serious infestation with white grubs. I am considering chemigation with chlorpiryphos methyl containing product throug drip soon after bloom to reduce bee poisoning risk. I understand that this is off label use however my previous experience shows that grubs will destroy a big part of the crop. I have however someserious concern about chlorpiryphos residues in fruits after such application after bloom. Chlorpiryphos does not show systemic activity but may evaporate. How high in your opinion is the risk of getting detectable residues . Many thanks for your opinion.

I am sorry this forum is not for making pesticide recommendations which are illegal or speculating on the likelihood of detection.
