I saw this snake on the side of a road in my neighborhood and trying to determine what kind of snake it was. It was about 12-16 inches long, which leads me to think it was a young snake. I have received "expert" comments from friends and colleagues as it is a copperhead, cornsnake, or a young black racer snake. I suspect a copperhead but online descriptions makes it a bit vague to determine since it is small and its marking not as specific as shown online. Can you tell from the photo attached what kind of snake it is?
