Hello,

Most zinnia varieties will do well in Colorado, as long as you plant the seeds with the correct spacing and water and care for them as recommended. A few varieties that are favorites of the farmers' market vendors include: Benary Giants, State Fair mix and Oklahoma Mix (smaller flowers, about 1" in diameter). Depending on height, they may need to be staked (or if they are in a windy spot).

Look to seed catalogs for the greatest selection; they also have additional information on size of the flower, depending on what you want to use them for. Seed catalogs that zinnias are Burpee Seeds, Johnny's, Park Seed and Baker Creek (heirlooms). I'm sure local garden centers also have seeds available for purchase, though selection will be more limited compared to ordering from a seed company.

Good luck!
