knock out roses

Asked May 19, 2015, 9:19 AM EDT

The rose was green in the spring with roses. Now all the leaves are brown and the flowers are still on the plant. There are two in the back yard and one in the front yard and all three have this problem. Did not see any type of insect on the plants. Thanks for any help you can give me. Bill

Please send us digital photos of the plant. Send photos of the shrub, around the base of the shrub, and affected foliage. Many roses have been subject to feeding by rose slugs, an insect. Look for this. See our website http://extension.umd.edu/hgic/rose-slugs-shrubs
