Eradicating poison hemlock?

Asked May 12, 2015, 9:30 PM EDT

We have identified poison hemlock on our land. We have quite a lot of it. What is the best way to eradicate it? Should we pull it up and burn it? Is it safe to compost? We would prefer not to use herbicides, as it is fairly widespread and we plan to pasture animals on the land in future. Thanks!

pulling it is the best way but labor intensive. It is ok to burn it just dont let livestock in contact with it while waiting to burn. I would not compost it. Chemical control works good too as long as you get it before it flowers.
Hope this helps!!
