Soil Tests

Asked May 12, 2015, 2:30 PM EDT

Would you please help me interpret my soil tests? Is high phosphorous in soil a heath risk, if you eat the produce? Are there any other concerns? Do you have any suggestions for improving my soil, or does it look ok for planting tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers?

You don't need to worry about having too much phosphorous because the plant will only uptake what it needs. The soil test has recommendations in the bottom half of the page under recommendations and messages. They tell you how to remedy an imbalance and what product to use. I would recommend you take your results in to your Penn State Extension at a time when the Master Gardeners are there. Someone can go through it with you so you understand what to do.
