goat at my new grape vines we was starting

Asked April 28, 2015, 7:56 PM EDT

We just bought some grape vines to start and we started them in a bucket cause it was to cold to put in the ground. We was about to put them in the ground and my goat got loose and ate the leave off the plant. I was wondering if they will regrow back or is it a lose cause now. If not what should I do to reassure they will come back. Thanks Patty

Grapes have latent buds. If the plant was relatively healthy, it may put out new growth. You should plant as soon as possible and you may need to protect them initially from the goat.
