How do I find out if I am considered a "farm" for tax purposes?

This IRS Bulletin is the Farm Tax Guide.

You will need to decide if you are operating your farm as a for profit business or a hobby. Near the end of the document is an explanation of this.

At one time the IRS used $1,000 as the definition, but I'm not certaiin that is still the case.
