Improving depleted soil to grow beets

Asked April 21, 2015, 9:10 AM EDT

We tested our soil with a rapitest and determined that our soil is depleted of K and P. We could not test for N and assume that it is most likely deficient too. We plan to grow beets In this raised bed. We have Espoma garden tone 3-3-4 and we also have Leaf Grow from Montgomery Co. Is this a good plan? What would you suggest?

Your right on track. Mix the leaf grow with the existing soil, add the espoma and incorporate it into the upper 4" to 6 " of the soil. This is all the fertility your soil will need
