We bought acreage in Ne Rochester (Hawthorn Hill area) and it is overrun with buckthorn. We are working to get rid of it all and are concerned about erosion once it's gone as half our acreage has a slope that goes into a ravine. Any ideas for native plants that we can plant to conserve the land and restore it to its native state?

Buckthorn seed will continue to germinate for several years. The following site will help.
