I wrapped my damaged tree in tree wrap last fall. The bark was splitting around the tree trunk. When do I take the tree wrap off ? Does the warm weather help the tree during the spring and summer without the tree wrap ?

In general we do not recommend tree wrap. Tree wrap may be used in nursery situations to prevent sun scald. In some situations the tree wrap can harbor insects and disease issues.
We cannot say for sure, but the bark splitting may have been due to a growth crack (fast growth) and in this case should be removed. There can be other reasons for bark splitting.
