Grass Bur

Asked April 15, 2015, 1:55 PM EDT

I'm in Groesbeck, Texas and have heavy grass/sand bur problems. I'm ready to spray Pastora but cannot because of all the rain. What is the latest date I could spray? Should I hold off using the Pastora and use some other cheaper weed spray and save the costly Pastora until next year? Please help!

Grassbur/Sandbur has to be controlled as a young, very immature plant. If it has put the burs on, then you are already too late. If the plant has not bloomed with the sticker, then go ahead and spray and kill. This is a difficult plant to kill so keep the pastora until next year if the plant has already bloomed with the sticker already and know you will treat early next year around mid to late march or early April.
