Our landscaper says that sawfly infestations are cyclical and therefore do not have to treat our pines trees this year because they were treated last year. Is this true?

Hennepin County Minnesota sawfly

Since they fly in from the surrounding area it is dependent on how many others in your area have treated last year it might be beneficial to monitor your trees and only treat in needed. For more information check http://www.extension.umn.edu/garden/insects/find/sawflies/
