Asked March 28, 2015, 12:13 PM EDT

I have a twenty acer farm and would appreciate some advice. Need to find someone that knows how to dispose of them safely. Thanks

Good Monday Morning,

Prickly Pear is not to hard to kill, just takes some patience. If you have time to wait and not opposed to spraying when you have some extra time, that is your easiest option. It will take about 2-3 years for total plant kill. Please review this website: http://texnat.tamu.edu/about/brush-busters/pricklypear/

If you want instant removal then you will have to scoop the pads up with a bucket on a tractor or grub by hand. Stack in a pile and burn or let dry out. You will then need to go back and spray the re-growth a few years down the road.

This is a sort answer to a longer question, but if you need more info please feel free to call or email.
