Returning Overwintering Plants to the Outdoors

Asked March 22, 2015, 8:34 PM EDT

What nighttime temperature needs to be attained to safely place tropical plants (hibiscus, avocado, dwarf palm, banana) outside? Thanks so much. Cydney Sherman

Put your plants out only after night temperatures remain above 60°F. (usually early June). Avoid sudden changes in light intensity. Acclimate plants by placing them in a shady area outdoors.
