Good morning,

Biochar is a soil amendment, and is not considered a cattle feed. Limited laboratory research in New Zealand has been done on biochar as an additive to cattle feed to assist in the effectiveness of biochar application to soils.

Please consult the following study for further information on this topic, specifically feeding rates as an additive to silage:

"Assessment of the influence of biochar on rumen and silage fermentation: A laboratory-scale experiment" Journal of Feed Animal Science and Technology Volume 196 October 2014, Pages 22–31.
