Should pin oaks suffering from bacterial leaf scorch be pruned frequently?

Asked March 11, 2015, 11:01 AM EDT

Our Courthouse Walk housing development pin oaks have been tentatively diagnosed as suffering from bacterial leaf scorch disease, and they are scheduled to be pruned again in a week or two. Last time they were pruned was two years ago. Is this scheduled pruning likely to adversely affect these trees by stressing them even further? Also, what are the best remedies for pin oaks infected with bacterial leaf disease?

Pruning is the best way to maintain tree with bacterial leaf scorch. Every two years is not too frequent. Here is a link to an article that should give you more information on Bacterial Leaf Scorch.

There are no sprays that are curative.
