soil temp. for tree roots

does thermal heat installation in driveway/parking lots effect tree roots? what degree of heat can tree roots tolerate?

Yes, Hardscapes and rock areas definitely effect plant growth and photosynthesis. There are so many variables including the type of tree so there is no simple answer. Thanks Susan, I had this opinion and disagreement with a contractor in Glenwood Springs who wanted to incorporate the thermal waters to keep a large parking lot snow-free. Thanks for the back up.
