grass shade tolerant and dog friendly

Asked February 17, 2015, 2:49 PM EST

We have a 1600 square foot space near a high-rise complex in Dallas that has to have grass that will grow with less than 6 hours of sun a day, usable specifically by dog owners, and grass that won't be subject to urine spotting. Any advice? Thanks.

All turfgrasses perform best in full sun, which is 6 hours our more. St. Augustine is the most shade tolerant grass, while Centipede will tolerate partial shade.

Dog urine and feces will damage the grass if it is concentrated. I have attached an article that will give you the facts.
