We have a Cleveland pear tree that is 3 years old. The tree has been growing very nicely. Someone took a a power saw to the tree and cut in about 1 inch. Is there anything we can do to save the tree? Anything that we could put on it in the area that was cut?

Once a tree has been damaged, there is nothing that you can do to fix it other than keeping it watered in time of drought. Sometimes trees heal themselves. We do not recommend putting anything on the area that was cut. Anything applied to the trunk will tend to trap moisture near the trunk and contribute to rot. vw
