I have a fairly sunny strip of ground next to my house. I'm thinking of planting milkweed to complement the buttery fly bush that I already have. Which species of milkweed likes a good amount of sun and grows in central Maryland?

There are three types of milkweed which are native to our area.
They are Asclepias incarnata (swamp milkweed), Asclepias syriaca (common milkweed) and Asclipeias tuberosa (butterfly milkweed). This last one has bright orange flowers and a taproot which can make it more difficult to establish, so either start with small plants or seed in the fall. They can self-seed themselves once they are established.
