I have several mature Bradford Pears (20+ years old) in my back yard. I've trimmed them back to keep them from splitting but two of them -- the ones closest to the woods behind our house bloom out in the spring and then the leaves turn brown at the end of the branches. They hang on that way through the growing season -- fall with the other leaves the first week in December. The other Bradford trees appear to be completely healthy. What's going on?

It sounds like your Bradford is stressed. A good possibility is fire blight. http://extension.umd.edu/learn/fireblight-ornamental-trees If this does not look like your problem, please send photos. vw
