I have a white fungus on a red Maple tree in the picture below. The tree is about 30 years old. Hopefully you can identify it in the picture below

This is a decay fungus which indicates that at least part of the cambium is dead. I would not offer a guess at the identity without a specimen in hand. If the tree is large enough to hurt some one/thing if it fails, you should remove it.
