Is your department currently working on something to work against bedbugs? I am a real estate professional and would like to know what the cutting edge product is to combat them? Do you recommend a particular product?

There is scientific research on bedbugs being done at universities and some promising things are happening, but nothing 'cutting edge' to report yet. Give it some time. We have heard of some bio-pesticides which are in the process of getting EPA blessing, and if so, this could be great, but we will need to wait and see. Keep checking back.

In the meantime, we still recommend using a pest control professional - those using dogs seem to be doing a good job- to search and to treat for them, and management of the environment, ie. getting rid of clutter etc. is definitely part of the equation.
