At the farm I work at, we have an infestation of bugs on our turnips and asters. They are about the size of aphids if not a little bit bigger. They have red legs and a black body. What are they, and what can be done to eradicate them and prevent their reoccurence? There is a picture attached where you can see them as little black dots on turnip leaves.

The insects on the turnip foliage looks like flea beetles. There are several species and they can have reddish, yellowish legs. Since you are a commercial entity, check the internet for publication EB- 236 Commercial Vegetable Production Recommendations 2014 for information and control.
