When the buds formed on my christmas cactus, each of the petals were slightly curled. Normally the buds are pointed, each petal is pointed. Since the petals are rounded, the blooms aren't as neat and attractive. Any ideas on why the blooms are miss-shaped?

Without a photo it is difficult to say exactly what the problem is. With the information that we have, we cannot identify the problem. Insects can cause deformation as can improper temperature, light and humidity. These problems would have been present when the buds were forming. The more usual response is for the buds to fall off. Be thankful that yours did not. Inspect your plant carefully for insects. Compare your flowers to those on Google Image. http://www.clemson.edu/extension/hgic/plants/indoor/flowering/hgic1554.html vw
