Lemon trees

Asked November 13, 2014, 11:54 AM EST

I have about 30 lemons on my tree that need about 2 more weeks before they are ready to be picked. With this freeze, can I pick them today and they will finish ripening on their own?

The lemons should be fine. There can be issues when the temperatures go below 29 and stay there for an extended period of time.

By leaving them on the tree the flavor will be sweeter, but you can harvest if you feel it necessary citrus ripens from the inside out.

Thanks for the question.
