Good Morning,

There is no reference for pricing manures. Typically farmers look at the nutrient content of manure and compare it to the cost of commercial fertilizers, adjust for the extra costs associated with transportation and application. A good resource on manure nutrient content can be found at http://agcrops.osu.edu/specialists/fertility/fertility-fact-sheets-and-bulletins/bulletin_604.pdf

You can contact the local fertilizer dealers for prices to compare or use http://farmfutures.com/story-weekly-fertilizer-review-0-30765 as a guide.

In using these information sources, horse manure would be somewhere in the $6 to $7 per ton price range. Most horse manure is lower in nutrients than other types of livestock mainly due to their nutrient intake. They are being fed to maintain their body weight, not add pounds of meat or produce milk.
