Invasive weed

Asked October 21, 2014, 5:15 PM EDT

What is this very invasive weed that is taking over a small pasture and entering my St Augustine lawn? What is the best method of eradication? Stems feel very wiry. Leaves are dark green. Roots have nodes.

Looks like BeggarWeed... very common in turf-lawns or pastures. from the picture it could be Creeping Indigo... however it doesn't matter, they are from the same family and equally difficult to control!!!
My only suggestion is a product call Trimec ... repeat until controlled... I would think it will take several applications at best. (treatment is best when plant is young and actively growing)
