Medditeranian house gecko

Asked October 19, 2014, 11:25 AM EDT

Found this gecko in my house. I live in eastern Pennsylvania. I have never seen this type of gecko around here. How did it get in my house? It is near winter and I don't want to let it loose afraid it is too cold for it to survive. Can I keep it as a pet? What are your suggestions and thoughts?

I doubt it would survive in your area. Someone must have had it as a pet and it escaped. You can probably keep it indoors as a pet. You can try checking with local pet stores for information on how to care for it. There is also information on line on gecko care. They are insectivores so you can probably feed them a variety of insects. It was probably eating what ever wandered into your house.
