Can I grow walnut and butternut trees from seed?

Asked October 15, 2014, 11:34 AM EDT

I have 4 five gallon buckets of walnuts and butternuts. I want to plant them to grow into trees. Will this work? If so, how do I plant and grow them?

Yes you can plant both from seed. The following links will tell you everything you need to know:

As you can read from this one however, butternut is a vanishing breed with serious disease problems:

Good luck!
